Welcome!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved nature, animals, and creating art. Those loves took a back seat during my 30 year career as a substance abuse/mental health counselor.

Now, I’m semi-retired, puttering around my backyard full of trees, hanging out with the dogs, and returning to my my  creative roots with art and writing. And what am a I writing about besides all of the above?  Well, how’s this for a story? My high school sweetheart found me again 39 years later when the time was perfect. My memoir, Trust the Timing, offers comfort and hope to those struggling with loneliness, co-dependency, and other relationship issues. Feel free to read more about the book on my Work in Progress page.

My story confirms what my father told me when I was 12 years old:

“Nothing is Impossible,”

I prefer to state things positively, so Anything Is Possible is the name of this blog.

When we open our eyes and our hearts, we discover that God and the universe really are conspiring for us to be happy. When we think and speak positively about our hopes and dreams and express gratitude for the good things we already have in our lives, we receive our hearts’ desires…..or something even better!  I’m still learning to be happy, still getting reminders to have faith.  But now I know that anything is possible!

Before I was ready to meet my soulmate again, I had to learn to love myself back to wholeness. That’s the theme of my second blog: “Loving Me, Too” at:

http://joannesilvia.wordpress.com/

Part of loving me, too, is making both of these blogs Award Free. I appreciate comments and love the support in our blogging community, but participating in awards is beyond the time I have available right now. But please feel free to share your thoughts!

PS. Yeah, my real name is JoAnne, but I like “JoAnna” better.

  1. Love this: “God and the Universe really are conspiring for us to be happy” Thank you for your beautiful transparency!

  2. There was a time when I felt what was happening in my life didn’t make sense, and I wasn’t so sure what that was about. Now, I’m honored to be able to share our story and the message of hope. Thank you for sharing your story also and for the work you do.

  3. I look forward to exploring your site and learning more about faith and trust. Thanks, Brad

  4. You make me want to believe there is a god?

    • Thank you for your comment. It feels real to me, maybe because I’ve felt that before. There was a time when I wasn’t so sure about God. But there have been too many signs showing me that God is working in my life, sometimes slowly, teaching me things I have been slow to learn. Believing has helped me. I wish the best for you, dear Toad.

  5. Nice and inspiring blog, JoAnne! Thanks for following “Known is a drop, Unknown is an Ocean”. 🙂

Can you believe my brother still loves me after all the misery I dealt him. He calls and reminds me to “write about the time you………..”

  7. Thanks for following so I could find you! I’ve enjoyed your humor, something I want to add to the early part of the book. We hope to publish in 2015. That’s my hope, but of course the timing will be perfect.

  8. Thanks for re-blogging my post today. Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂

  9. Oh WOW, the blessing of this gives such encouragement–and confirmation–of God’s hand and heart of Goodness for us.

  10. Yes. I need to remember God still works in my life, and in all things, including your comment! Thank you, Paislee Blu.

  11. I didn’t know where to write this and I don’t believe that Word Press has an option to message people (I may be wrong I don’t know). I’m currently reading through your blog and I felt like it was necessary to tell you that based off of what I’ve read you are truly an awesome person. I don’t believe I’ve ever smiled so much reading blog posts from anyone. Anyway that is all =)

  12. That has got to be one of the most encouraging compliments I’ve ever received. Thank you! I’m glad to have made you smile so much! I’ve enjoyed reading your posts, many of which show wisdom beyond your years.

  14. Awesome about me 😉 I am a big believer in timing, visualizing & trusting! Such a cool story 😉

    • Thanks, Kelly. The details of how and when David found me again make it clear that visualizing and trusting allow miracles to emerge with perfect timing, sometimes beyond our wildest dreams!

  15. Hey, I know that you will publish your story in your book but I was thinking that it would also be a nice thing to tell a short version of it in my feature “Couples”? And you can kind of advertise your book like that as well? If you are interested, just email me your story. You find my email under About and Contact. Check out Your Stories under Couples, so you get a picture of what I am talking about. Cheers

  16. That’s really sweet. I am so pleased for both of you 😀
